Three Sisters, by Marla Skye. Depicts a Haudenosaunee planting method where corn, beans and squash help each other as they are planted together. By planting these seeds together in the same patch, corn provides tall stalks for the beans to climb so that they are not out-competed by sprawling squash vines. Beans provide nitrogen to fertilize the soil and shade while also stabilizing the tall corn during heavy winds. They support each other and are stronger together than apart. Respect, relationship, reciprocity and responsibility can be observed in this relationship among the Three Sisters.
